Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (113 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup (40 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup (65 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup (40 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease the baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Mix in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined. Set aside.
  5. In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth.
  6. Add granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract; mix until creamy and well combined.
  7. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Dollop half of the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter.
  9. Repeat with the remaining brownie batter and cream cheese mixture.
  10. Using a knife or toothpick, gently swirl the two mixtures together for a marbled effect.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
  12. Allow brownies to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
