Ingredients:
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (280 g)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda (5 g)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (2.5 g)
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (170 g)
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed (220 g)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100 g)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5 ml)
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 2 cups chocolate chips (340 g)
- 1 cup toffee bits or colorful sprinkles for decoration (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
- Cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in vanilla extract until combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and optional toffee bits or sprinkles.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Scoop out tablespoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheets lined with parchment paper, spacing them about two inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
- Cool cookies on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
