Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240 g) plain yogurt (preferably whole milk)
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (120 ml) vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups (180 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Fresh fruits (berries, oranges, etc.)
  • Honey or powdered sugar (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease the cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together yogurt, sugar, and vegetable oil until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, folding gently until just combined (do not overmix).
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve, optionally drizzled with honey or dusted with powdered sugar.
