Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240g) plain yogurt (Greek or regular)
  • 1 ½ cups (180g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp (5g) baking powder
  • 1 tsp (5g) salt
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) honey (optional, for sweetness)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Coarse sea salt, for sprinkling
  • Optional: garlic powder, sesame seeds, or everything bagel seasoning

Instructions:

  1. Preheat to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix yogurt and honey (if using).
  4. Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry mixture until a soft dough forms.
  5. Lightly knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Divide dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each piece into a rope. Twist into a pretzel shape.
  7. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place pretzels on it.
  8. Brush each pretzel with beaten egg and sprinkle with sea salt and optional toppings.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
