Ingredients:
- 2 cups Bisquick Original Mix
- 2/3 cup low-fat 1% milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
Instructions:
- In a medium bowl, combine the 2 cups of Bisquick with the dried thyme and cracked black pepper.
- Whisk the egg and the 2/3 cup of milk in a separate small container until the yolk is fully incorporated.
- Pour the milk mixture into the dry mix and stir with a fork just until the flour disappears. Note: Over mixing will make the dumplings tough.
- Drop the dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto the surface of a simmering stew or broth, making about 10-12 dumplings.
- Let the dumplings simmer uncovered for 10 minutes until the bottom sets and you smell the herbs blooming.
- Place a tight fitting lid on the pot and cook for another 10 minutes until the tops are dry and the centers are fluffy.
