Ingredients:

  • cup frozen blueberries
  • large ripe banana (preferably frozen and sliced)
  • tablespoons peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
  • cup milk (dairy, almond, soy, or oat)
  • scoop protein powder (optional, vanilla or unflavoured)
  • teaspoon sweetener (optional, maple syrup or honey)
  • ice cubes (optional, only if using fresh fruit)

Instructions:

  1. Add the liquid base (milk) to the blender jug first to ensure the blades move freely.
  2. Next, add the peanut butter, banana, and any optional protein powder or sweeteners.
  3. Place the frozen blueberries and any optional ice cubes on top of the other ingredients.
  4. Secure the lid tightly. Start blending on a low setting, then quickly increase to high. Pulse a few times if the mixture stalls.
  5. Blend continuously until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula if necessary.
  6. Give the smoothie a quick taste. If it’s too thick, add a splash more milk. If it requires more sweetness, add half a teaspoon more sweetener and blend briefly.
  7. Pour into a tall glass and enjoy immediately!
