Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240ml) Water, lukewarm (about 105-115°F or 40-46°C)
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) Vegetable Oil (such as canola or sunflower)
- 1/4 cup (85g) Honey
- 1 1/2 teaspoons (8g) Salt
- 3 cups (360g) Bread Flour, plus more for dusting if needed
- 1/2 cup (45g) Rolled Oats, plus extra for topping
- 2 1/4 teaspoons (7g) Active Dry Yeast (or 1 packet)
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) Milk or Egg Wash (Optional for Topping)
- 1 tablespoon (8g) Rolled Oats (Optional for Topping)
Instructions:
- Following your bread machine manufacturer's instructions, add the water, oil, honey, salt, bread flour, oats, and yeast to the bread machine pan.
- Select the basic bread cycle (usually a 3-hour cycle). Choose your desired crust color (light, medium, or dark).
- If desired, gently brush the top of the dough with milk or egg wash, then sprinkle with rolled oats.
- Press the 'start' button and let the machine do its magic.
- After about 10-15 minutes, check the dough consistency. If it appears too dry, add a tablespoon of water at a time until the dough comes together. If it seems too wet, add a tablespoon of flour at a time.
- Once the baking cycle is complete, carefully remove the bread from the machine. Place the loaf on a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
