- 1/2 tsp (2 g) garlic powder (optional)
- Fresh herbs (e.g., thyme or rosemary) for garnish, optional
Instructions:
- Slice cippolini onions in half horizontally and season with olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper.
- Heat skillet over medium heat, add seasoned onions cut side down, and cook until golden brown and caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
- In a small saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, and garlic powder (if using). Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently.
- Reduce heat and cook until thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Drizzle the balsamic glaze over caramelized onions, garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve warm.
