Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs Prepared Pizza Dough
  • 2 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 12 oz Sharp Cheddar Cheese, sliced or cubed
  • 8 oz American Cheese or Monterey Jack
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 1 Large egg
  • 1 tbsp Whole milk
  • 2 tbsp Salted butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp Coarse sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Divide the dough into two equal portions. On a floured surface, roll the first half into a large rectangle that fits your rimmed baking sheet. Transfer the dough to a parchment-lined sheet.
  2. Arrange the sharp cheddar and American cheese slices across the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around all edges. Sprinkle with garlic powder and cayenne pepper if desired.
  3. Roll out the second half of the dough and drape it over the cheese layer, aligning the edges with the bottom layer of dough.
  4. Pinch the edges firmly to create a tight seal and crimp with a fork. Use a sharp knife to lightly score the top dough into 12 squares without cutting all the way through.
  5. Whisk the egg and milk together to create an egg wash. Brush the top of the dough generously with the mixture.
  6. Bake for 18–22 minutes until the exterior is mahogany-brown. Remove from the oven and immediately brush with melted butter and a sprinkle of coarse sea salt.
