Ingredients:
- 2 lbs Prepared Pizza Dough
- 2 tbsp All-purpose flour
- 12 oz Sharp Cheddar Cheese, sliced or cubed
- 8 oz American Cheese or Monterey Jack
- 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper
- 1 Large egg
- 1 tbsp Whole milk
- 2 tbsp Salted butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp Coarse sea salt
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Divide the dough into two equal portions. On a floured surface, roll the first half into a large rectangle that fits your rimmed baking sheet. Transfer the dough to a parchment-lined sheet.
- Arrange the sharp cheddar and American cheese slices across the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around all edges. Sprinkle with garlic powder and cayenne pepper if desired.
- Roll out the second half of the dough and drape it over the cheese layer, aligning the edges with the bottom layer of dough.
- Pinch the edges firmly to create a tight seal and crimp with a fork. Use a sharp knife to lightly score the top dough into 12 squares without cutting all the way through.
- Whisk the egg and milk together to create an egg wash. Brush the top of the dough generously with the mixture.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes until the exterior is mahogany-brown. Remove from the oven and immediately brush with melted butter and a sprinkle of coarse sea salt.
