Ingredients:
- 1 cup (140g) raw cashews, soaked
- 1 cup (240ml) vegetable broth
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) lemon juice
- 1/2 cup (30g) nutritional yeast
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Drain and rinse the soaked cashews.
- Combine cashews, vegetable broth, and lemon juice in the blender. Blend until completely smooth.
- Add nutritional yeast, olive oil, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using) to the blender. Blend again until fully incorporated.
- Pour the sauce into a small saucepan and heat over medium heat, stirring constantly. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
