Ingredients:

  • 750g frozen shredded hashbrowns
  • 240ml sour cream (can substitute with Greek yogurt)
  • 240g shredded cheddar cheese
  • 60g diced onion (optional)
  • 60g unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 60g grated Parmesan cheese for topping (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded hashbrowns, sour cream, half of the cheddar cheese, diced onion (if using), melted butter, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Spread the hashbrown mixture evenly in the baking dish.
  4. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese and Parmesan (if using).
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving.
