Ingredients:

  • 1 (15 oz) can refried beans (425g)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (100g)
  • 1 cup sour cream (240g)
  • 1 (4 oz) can diced green chilies (113g)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (5g)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin (5g)
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (5g)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
  • Tortilla chips
  • Fresh vegetable sticks (carrots, bell peppers, etc.)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the refried beans, sour cream, garlic powder, ground cumin, chili powder, and chopped green chilies in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir until well mixed and heated through, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add half of the shredded cheese to the bean mixture and mix until melted.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a baking dish and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro, if desired.
  8. Serve hot with tortilla chips and veggie sticks.
