Ingredients:
- 12 ounces (340g) Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Vegetable shortening or coconut oil (optional)
- 24 Pretzel rods, sticks, or twists (approx 8oz/225g)
Instructions:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.
- Combine chocolate chips and shortening (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth. Alternatively, melt chocolate over a double boiler.
- Dip each pretzel into the melted chocolate, ensuring it's fully coated. Use a fork or dipping tool to remove the pretzel from the chocolate, allowing excess chocolate to drip off.
- Immediately sprinkle with desired toppings (sprinkles, nuts, etc.) while the chocolate is still wet (optional).
- Place the chocolate-covered pretzels on the prepared baking sheet.
- Allow the chocolate to set at room temperature or chill in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes.
