Ingredients:
- 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp unsweetened Dutch-processed cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch sea salt
- 3 tbsp whole milk
- 1 tbsp neutral oil (avocado or vegetable)
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp water or brewed coffee
- 1 tbsp semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- In a 10-12 oz microwave-safe mug (Mugs52 Maker Collection recommended), whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until uniform and clumps are removed.
- Add the milk, neutral oil, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Whisk vigorously until the batter is smooth and glossy, ensuring you scrape the bottom corners of the mug.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips if using.
- Pour 1 tablespoon of water or brewed coffee directly into the center of the batter. Do not stir; this creates the 'steam-pocket' for a moist texture.
- Microwave on high for 60 seconds. If the center still looks wet, add 15 seconds, but do not overcook. Let rest for 1 minute before serving.
