Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ oz (75 ml) gin (London dry gin recommended)
  • ½ oz (15 ml) dry vermouth
  • Ice cubes (for chilling)
  • 1 green olive or a twist of lemon peel (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Chill the martini glass by placing it in the freezer or filling it with ice water.
  2. Fill a mixing glass or cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
  3. Using a jigger, pour 2 ½ oz of gin and ½ oz of dry vermouth into the mixing glass.
  4. Gently stir the mixture for about 30 seconds until well chilled.
  5. Remove the ice from the martini glass and strain the chilled mixture into the glass.
  6. Add the green olive or twist the lemon peel over the drink to release its oils, then drop it in.
