Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup (30g) cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups (480ml) whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ounces (60g) semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • Whipped cream (for garnish, optional)
  • Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder (for dusting, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Whisk together sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt in a medium saucepan until well blended.
  2. Gradually whisk in the whole milk until smooth and lump-free.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cook until the mixture thickens and bubbles (approximately 5-10 minutes).
  4. Once thickened, remove from heat and stir in chopped chocolate and vanilla extract until melted and smooth.
  5. Pour the pudding into serving dishes or ramekins, cover with plastic wrap (pressing it directly onto the surface to prevent a skin), and chill in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes.
