Ingredients:

  • 4 slices of bread (Brioche, Challah, or Texas Toast work best)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) heavy cream (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1g) ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter

Instructions:

  1. In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream (if using), vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  2. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are thoroughly coated. Don't let it soak too long, just a quick dip on each side will do.
  3. Melt one tablespoon of butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  4. Place two slices of soaked bread into the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Repeat with the remaining butter and bread.
  5. Serve immediately with your favorite toppings.
