Ingredients:
- 4 slices of bread (Brioche, Challah, or Texas Toast work best)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) heavy cream (optional)
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon (1g) ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter
Instructions:
- In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream (if using), vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are thoroughly coated. Don't let it soak too long, just a quick dip on each side will do.
- Melt one tablespoon of butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Place two slices of soaked bread into the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Repeat with the remaining butter and bread.
- Serve immediately with your favorite toppings.
