  1. Stack tortillas and slice them into 6 or 8 uniform wedges using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  2. Place the wedges in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle lightly with oil and toss gently until every chip is just coated—do not drench them.
  3. Sprinkle salt and any optional seasonings (chili powder, cumin) over the oiled chips. Toss again until seasoning is evenly distributed.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 3–5 minutes, if desired.
  5. Working in single layers, place the seasoned chips into the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; work in batches to ensure crispness.
  6. Air fry for 4 minutes.
  7. Carefully pull out the basket, give it a good shake to flip the chips, and return to the air fryer. Cook for another 4–6 minutes until lightly golden brown and firm.
  8. Immediately transfer the cooked chips to a wire rack or plate to cool completely. They will crisp up further as they cool down.
