Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup (40 g) Droste cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (65 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 g) salt
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 g) baking powder
- 1/2 cup (90 g) chocolate chips or nuts (walnuts or pecans)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease or line the baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar.
- Whisk in eggs and vanilla until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, mix cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Optional: Fold in chocolate chips or nuts at this stage.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish, smoothing the top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Cut into squares.
