Ingredients:

  • 1 can (15 oz / 425 g) of green beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) of salt, adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2 g) of black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon (2 g) of dried thyme or rosemary, optional
  • 1 tablespoon (15 g) of grated Parmesan cheese, optional

Instructions:

  1. Open the can of green beans and drain them in a strainer. Rinse under cold water to reduce sodium content.
  2. In a medium-sized saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the hot oil. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
  4. Stir in the drained green beans. Cook for about 5 minutes until heated through, stirring occasionally.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Add thyme or rosemary if using. Stir well to combine.
  6. Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve warm.
