Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 3 to 4 tablespoons ice water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup bourbon (optional)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and sugar. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water, mixing until a dough forms. Chill for 30 minutes.
- In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and bourbon (if using); mix until smooth. Stir in chocolate chips and chopped walnuts.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out the chilled crust on a floured surface and fit it into the pie dish. Pour the filling evenly into the prepared crust.
- Bake for 40 to 50 minutes until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out mostly clean.
- Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!
