Ingredients:

  • ½ cup (120ml) Mayonnaise (full-fat recommended)
  • ¼ cup (60ml) Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) Yellow Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) Sweet Pickle Relish
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) Paprika (smoked paprika is especially good)
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5ml) Garlic Powder
  • ¼ teaspoon (1.25ml) Onion Powder
  • Optional: 1 small shallot, finely minced (about 1 tablespoon)
  • Optional: Pinch of cayenne pepper

Instructions:

  1. (Optional - Shallot Prep): Sauté minced shallot in butter/oil over med-low heat until softened. Cool.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Whisk mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire, relish, paprika, garlic, and onion powder.
  3. (Shallot Addition - Optional): Add cooled shallot to sauce; stir.
  4. (Spice it Up - Optional): Add cayenne pepper, if desired; stir.
  5. Taste and Adjust: Adjust seasonings to taste. More Worcestershire or sugar, if needed.
  6. Refrigerate: Refrigerate for 30+ min for flavors to meld for the best patty melt sauce.
