Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup (165g) packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon (3g) salt
  • 1 cup (175g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture, blending until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. If desired, line the bottom of the Dutch oven with parchment paper for easy removal.
  8. Scoop the cookie dough into the Dutch oven and spread it into an even layer.
  9. Cover the Dutch oven with its lid and bake for 25-30 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the center is slightly gooey.
  10. Let cool for a few minutes, then serve warm, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!
