Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (120ml) whole milk
  • ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 can (12 oz or 360ml) evaporated milk
  • 1 can (14 oz or 396g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
  • 1 ½ cups (360ml) heavy whipping cream
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour the baking dish. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, beat sugar, eggs, vanilla, melted butter, and milk until combined. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined; do not overmix.
  3. Pour batter into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely in the dish.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine evaporated milk, condensed milk, and whole milk. Whisk until smooth.
  5. Once cooled, poke holes all over the cake with a fork or toothpick. Slowly pour the soaking mixture over the cake, allowing it to absorb. Chill for at least 30 minutes.
  6. In a bowl, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  7. Spread the whipped cream over the soaked cake. Optional: Garnish with fresh fruit or a sprinkle of cinnamon.
