Ingredients:
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- ½ cup (120ml) whole milk
- ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 can (12 oz or 360ml) evaporated milk
- 1 can (14 oz or 396g) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
- 1 ½ cups (360ml) heavy whipping cream
- 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour the baking dish. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat sugar, eggs, vanilla, melted butter, and milk until combined. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined; do not overmix.
- Pour batter into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely in the dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine evaporated milk, condensed milk, and whole milk. Whisk until smooth.
- Once cooled, poke holes all over the cake with a fork or toothpick. Slowly pour the soaking mixture over the cake, allowing it to absorb. Chill for at least 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
- Spread the whipped cream over the soaked cake. Optional: Garnish with fresh fruit or a sprinkle of cinnamon.
