Ingredients:
- 1 (16 ounce) can refried beans (approx. 450g)
- 1 (1 ounce) package taco seasoning (approx. 30g)
- 1 ripe avocado, pitted and mashed
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (approx. 15ml)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (approx. 2.5ml)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin (approx. 1.25ml)
- 1 cup sour cream (approx. 240ml)
- 1 cup salsa (approx. 240ml)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (approx. 225g)
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives (approx. 120ml)
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions (approx. 60ml)
- 1/4 cup pickled sliced jalapeños (optional) (approx. 60ml)
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, combine refried beans and taco seasoning. Mix well until evenly distributed.
- In another small bowl, mash avocado. Add lemon juice, salt, and cumin. Mix well.
- Spread the refried bean mixture evenly across the bottom of the serving dish.
- Carefully spread the guacamole layer over the bean layer.
- Spread the sour cream evenly over the guacamole layer.
- Spoon the salsa over the sour cream layer.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the salsa layer. (Optional: Bake in a preheated 350°F/175°C oven for 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.)
- Sprinkle sliced black olives, green onions, and jalapeños (if using) over the cheese layer.
- Cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve with tortilla chips. This 7 layer dip recipe is great for parties.
