Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) olive oil
  • ½ tsp (3g) salt
  • ¼ tsp (1g) black pepper
  • 3 tbsp (45ml) honey
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) soy sauce
  • 3 cloves (15g) garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp (5ml) fresh ginger, grated
  • ½ tsp (2g) red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) lemon juice

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set this aside to allow the garlic and ginger to infuse into the honey.
  2. Pat the shrimp completely dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a 12-inch skillet over high heat until shimmering. Add shrimp in a single layer; sear for 2 minutes per side until they turn opaque and develop a golden-brown crust.
  4. Pour the honey garlic mixture directly over the seared shrimp. Stir constantly for 1–2 minutes as the sauce begins to bubble and thicken into a velvety glaze.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice for a bright, acidic finish.
