Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tbsp (15ml) olive oil
- ½ tsp (3g) salt
- ¼ tsp (1g) black pepper
- 3 tbsp (45ml) honey
- 2 tbsp (30ml) soy sauce
- 3 cloves (15g) garlic, minced
- 1 tsp (5ml) fresh ginger, grated
- ½ tsp (2g) red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp (15ml) lemon juice
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set this aside to allow the garlic and ginger to infuse into the honey.
- Pat the shrimp completely dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a 12-inch skillet over high heat until shimmering. Add shrimp in a single layer; sear for 2 minutes per side until they turn opaque and develop a golden-brown crust.
- Pour the honey garlic mixture directly over the seared shrimp. Stir constantly for 1–2 minutes as the sauce begins to bubble and thicken into a velvety glaze.
- Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice for a bright, acidic finish.
