Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450 g) ground beef (80% lean for juiciness)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- ½ teaspoon onion powder (optional)
- 4 burger buns
- Toppings: cheese slices, lettuce, tomato, pickles, etc. (optional)
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce or hot sauce (optional)
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion or herbs (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and allow it to fully preheat.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup. Optional: place a wire rack on the baking sheet for even air circulation.
- Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions (~4 oz or 113 g each) and gently shape into round, flat patties about ¾ inch (2 cm) thick, making a slight indent in the center.
- Season both sides of the patties with salt, pepper, and optional seasonings. Place patties on the prepared baking surface, spacing evenly.
- Bake the burgers for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway if using a wire rack, until reaching desired internal temperature (160°F / 70°C for medium beef).
- Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness: 160°F (70°C) for medium beef, 145°F (63°C) for medium rare, or 165°F (74°C) for poultry.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 3-5 minutes. Toast buns if desired, add toppings, and assemble the burger.
