Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) fresh asparagus, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- ¼ cup (25g) grated Parmesan cheese
- Optional: 1 tablespoon (15ml) balsamic vinegar for additional flavor
Instructions:
- Rinse asparagus under cold water and trim the woody ends off the bottom of the stalks.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add the asparagus to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally until bright green and tender-crisp.
- Stir in the minced garlic and continue to sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
- Remove from heat. Stir in lemon juice, zest, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving; toss to combine.
