Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup brewed espresso or strong coffee
- 1 cup milk, any type
- Whipped cream or froth for garnish
- Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for dusting
Instructions:
- In a small saucepan, combine cocoa powder and sugar. Gradually whisk in water until smooth and well mixed.
- Heat over medium heat, stirring until the mixture is hot but not boiling.
- Prepare the espresso or strong coffee in your machine or coffee maker while the chocolate base heats.
- In the same or another small saucepan, heat the milk until steaming.
- Use a whisk or milk frother to froth the milk until it reaches a creamy texture.
- In each coffee mug, pour equal amounts of the chocolate base.
- Add brewed coffee to each mug, stirring gently to combine.
- Top with frothed milk, allowing it to layer beautifully.
- Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings or cocoa powder, if desired.
