Ingredients:
- 2 cups (230g) crushed pretzel twists
- ¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter, melted
- 3 tablespoons (36g) granulated sugar
- 8 ounces (227g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup (113g) powdered sugar
- 1 ½ cups (360ml) heavy cream
- 1 (6 ounce) package orange-flavored Jello
- 2 cups (473ml) boiling water
- 1 (11 ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar in a bowl.
- Press mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 10 minutes, or until lightly golden brown. Let cool completely.
- Beat softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
- In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until combined.
- Spread filling evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.
- In a large bowl, dissolve orange Jello powder in boiling water.
- Stir in mandarin oranges.
- Let cool slightly (but not set!).
- Pour Jello mixture evenly over the creamy filling.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, until the Jello is fully set. Cut into squares and serve cold.
