Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (15 ml)
- 1 pound ground beef (450g)
- 1 medium yellow onion, chopped (approx. 1 cup or 150g)
- 1 teaspoon salt (5g)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper (2.5g)
- 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup (305g)
- 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup (305g)
- 1 cup milk (240 ml)
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can green beans, drained (410g)
- 1 (15 ounce) can sweet corn, drained (425g)
- 1 (2 pound) bag frozen tater tots (900g)
- Optional: 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (100g)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook, breaking up the beef with a spoon, until the beef is browned and the onions are softened. Drain off any excess grease. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a large bowl, combine the browned ground beef mixture, cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, and milk. Stir until well combined.
- Stir in the drained green beans and sweet corn. Mix well.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the beef and vegetable mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
- If desired, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the tater tots during the last 10 minutes of baking. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
