Ingredients:

  • 4 cups (950 ml) water
  • 4 teaspoons (4 bags) black tea or green tea
  • 1 cup (about 25 grams) fresh mint leaves, loosely packed
  • 2-4 tablespoons (30-60 grams) granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Ice (optional, for iced version)
  • Mint sprigs (for garnish, optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a teapot or saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and add the tea (loose or bags) to the water.
  3. Let the tea steep for 3-5 minutes based on desired strength.
  4. After steeping, add the fresh mint leaves to the tea.
  5. Stir in the sugar until fully dissolved. Adjust sweetness to taste.
  6. Strain the tea into a pitcher, removing the mint and tea leaves.
  7. For hot tea, serve immediately. For iced tea, allow to cool and serve over ice, garnished with mint sprigs.
