Ingredients:

  • 1 cup plain yogurt (preferably whole milk)
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, add the yogurt and tomato paste. Whisk until smooth.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger until fully incorporated.
  3. Add ground cumin, ground coriander, garam masala, turmeric, paprika, chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Squeeze in the lemon juice and whisk until combined. Optionally, add vegetable oil for a richer flavor.
  5. Taste the paste and adjust spices or salt to your liking.
  6. Transfer to an airtight container, and refrigerate for up to 1 week or freeze for longer storage.
