Ingredients:
- 1 cup plain yogurt (preferably whole milk)
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (optional)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, add the yogurt and tomato paste. Whisk until smooth.
- Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger until fully incorporated.
- Add ground cumin, ground coriander, garam masala, turmeric, paprika, chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Squeeze in the lemon juice and whisk until combined. Optionally, add vegetable oil for a richer flavor.
- Taste the paste and adjust spices or salt to your liking.
- Transfer to an airtight container, and refrigerate for up to 1 week or freeze for longer storage.
