Ingredients:
- 1 pack (12 count) Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 1 lb deli-sliced smoked ham
- 8 oz Swiss cheese slices
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp poppy seeds
- 1/4 tsp garlic salt
Instructions:
- Using a serrated knife, slice the entire block of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Keep the top and bottom slabs separate.
- Place the bottom slab into a 9x13 inch baking pan, pressing it down slightly to ensure there are no gaps.
- Layer the Swiss cheese evenly across the bottom bun.
- Pile the thinly sliced ham on top of the cheese, ensuring full coverage.
- Finish with a second layer of Swiss cheese and place the top bun slab over the cheese.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, onion powder, poppy seeds, and garlic salt.
- Use a pastry brush to paint the glaze generously over the tops of the rolls, letting it drip slightly down the sides.
- Cover the pan loosely with aluminum foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the tops are a deep mahogany-gold and the cheese is bubbling.
