Ingredients:

  • 1 large frozen banana, sliced
  • 2 Tablespoons creamy or crunchy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 Tablespoon strawberry or grape jelly/preserves
  • 1 scoop vanilla or unflavoured protein powder (optional)
  • 3-4 ice cubes (optional)
  • A tiny pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the blender by ensuring the jug is clean and ready to use.
  2. Layer the liquids first: pour the milk into the blender jug.
  3. Add the solids and flavourings: add the frozen banana slices, peanut butter, jelly, protein powder (if using), and the pinch of salt on top of the milk.
  4. Secure the lid and begin blending on a low setting, gradually increasing the speed to high.
  5. If the mixture stalls, stop the blender, use a rubber spatula to push the ingredients down towards the blades, and add an extra splash (1-2 Tablespoons) of milk if it is too thick.
  6. Blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth, creamy, and uniform in texture.
  7. Pour immediately into a tall glass and enjoy this Peanut Butter and Jelly Smoothie while cold.
