- 1-2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions:
- Wash and trim the green beans. Snap or cut off the stem end.
- Choose Your Method: Sautéing, Steaming, or Roasting.
- Sautéing: Heat olive oil in skillet over medium-high heat. Add green beans and garlic (if using); cook, stirring occasionally, until bright green and crisp-tender (about 5-7 minutes). Season with salt and pepper.
- Steaming: Bring water to a boil in a pot with a steamer basket. Add green beans to the steamer basket; cover and steam until bright green and crisp-tender (about 5-8 minutes). Season with salt and pepper. (Drizzle with olive oil if desired).
- Roasting: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Toss green beans with olive oil, salt, and pepper on a baking sheet. Roast for 10-15 minutes, or until tender-crisp and slightly browned.
