Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450 g) fresh asparagus, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon (15 g) grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions:
- Trim the woody ends of the asparagus.
- Place a large sauté pan over medium heat and add olive oil. Allow it to heat until shimmering.
- Add the asparagus to the pan in a single layer. Cook for 5-7 minutes, tossing occasionally, until bright green and tender-crisp.
- Push the asparagus to one side and add the minced garlic. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, ensuring it doesn't burn.
- Add lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together to coat.
- Optionally, sprinkle with grated Parmesan and chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy warm.
