- 1 pound (450 g) ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces / 800 g) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 15 ounces (425 g) ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup (100 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 12 to 15 lasagna noodles
- 3 cups (300 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Meat Sauce by browning the ground beef over medium heat, then sautéing onion and garlic until translucent. Stir in remaining sauce ingredients and simmer.
- Prepare the Ricotta Mixture by combining ricotta cheese, egg, grated Parmesan, and salt in a mixing bowl.
- Cook the Lasagna Noodles according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.
- Assemble the Lasagna by preheating the oven, layering meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella in the baking dish.
- Bake the Lasagna covered tightly with foil for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake an additional 15-20 minutes until golden.
- Cool for 15 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.
