Ingredients:
- 4 whole pita breads (around 6 inches/15 cm each)
- 1 cup (240 ml) marinara sauce or pizza sauce
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) garlic powder
- 1 ½ cups (150 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup (75 g) sliced pepperoni or your choice of toppings
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a small bowl, combine the marinara sauce, oregano, and garlic powder. Mix well.
- Place pita breads on a baking sheet or pizza stone lined with parchment paper if using.
- Evenly distribute the sauce over each pita, leaving a small border.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the sauce.
- Arrange pepperoni slices or desired toppings evenly over the cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil if desired, slice, and enjoy!
