Ingredients:

  • 4 whole pita breads (around 6 inches/15 cm each)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) marinara sauce or pizza sauce
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) garlic powder
  • 1 ½ cups (150 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup (75 g) sliced pepperoni or your choice of toppings
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine the marinara sauce, oregano, and garlic powder. Mix well.
  3. Place pita breads on a baking sheet or pizza stone lined with parchment paper if using.
  4. Evenly distribute the sauce over each pita, leaving a small border.
  5. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the sauce.
  6. Arrange pepperoni slices or desired toppings evenly over the cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil if desired, slice, and enjoy!
