Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon (15 g) dried garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon (15 g) dried onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon (15 g) ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon (15 g) ground turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon (15 g) nutritional yeast (for umami)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) black salt (kala namak) or regular sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) ground black pepper

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, add garlic powder, onion powder, ground cumin, ground turmeric, nutritional yeast, black salt, and black pepper.
  2. Use a whisk or fork to combine all ingredients until evenly distributed.
  3. Transfer the seasoning blend into an airtight container. Store in a cool, dry place.
  4. Substitute 1/4 teaspoon of this blend for 1/4 teaspoon of asafoetida in recipes.
