Ingredients:
- 9 cups Rice Chex, Corn Chex, or Wheat Chex cereal (approx. 250g)
- 1 cup (225g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup (125g) creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup (55g) unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups (180g) powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup Red, White, & Blue M&M's or other candies (approx. 100g)
- 1/2 cup Red, White, & Blue sprinkles (approx. 50g)
Instructions:
- Pour the Chex cereal into a large bowl and set aside.
- Combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal and gently stir until all the cereal is evenly coated.
- Pour the powdered sugar into the large resealable bag. Add the chocolate-coated cereal to the bag. Seal the bag and shake well until the cereal is completely coated in powdered sugar.
- Pour the Muddy Buddies onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (or spread them out in the large bowl). Immediately sprinkle with red, white, and blue M&M's and sprinkles.
- Let the Muddy Buddies cool completely (about 30 minutes) to allow the chocolate to set. Break apart any large clumps. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
