Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240 ml) ketchup
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup (50 g) brown sugar, packed
- 2 tablespoons (30 g) honey
- 1 tablespoon (15 g) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) onion powder
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g) black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g) cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
Instructions:
- In a medium saucepan, add ketchup, apple cider vinegar, honey, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Stir in brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Over medium heat, bring the mixture to a simmer, whisking occasionally.
- Lower the heat to medium-low and let it simmer uncovered for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cook until the sauce has thickened slightly; it should coat the back of a spoon.
- Remove from the heat, allow to cool, and transfer to an airtight container for storage.
