Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (50g) powdered sugar
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter and powdered sugar. Beat until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Gradually add all-purpose flour and salt. Mix until just combined.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract until evenly distributed.
  4. Shape the dough into a disk and wrap in plastic wrap. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes, using cookie cutters or a knife.
  7. Place cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until lightly golden on the edges.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
