Ingredients:
- 4 medium apples (e.g., Granny Smith or Fuji, about 1.5 pounds or 680 grams)
- 2 tablespoons (28 grams) unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup (50 grams) brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) lemon juice
Instructions:
- Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges. Toss with lemon juice to prevent browning.
- In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
- Once the butter is melted, add the apple wedges to the skillet.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt over the apples and stir to coat.
- Cook the apples for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until they are tender and golden brown.
- Remove from heat, and serve warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
