Ingredients:

  • 1 cup tomato ketchup
  • 1/2 cup molasses (unsulfured)
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, add the tomato ketchup, molasses, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce.
  2. Whisk in brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir well. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
  4. Lower the heat to a simmer and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt, pepper, or vinegar to your liking.
  6. Once thickened, remove the saucepan from heat and let the sauce cool before transferring to a storage container. Refrigerate until ready to use.
