Ingredients:
- 5 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- ¾ cup milk
Instructions:
- Peel and slice the fresh peaches. In a bowl, combine the sliced peaches, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and melted butter. Stir until well coated.
- Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk and stir until just combined.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough over the peach filling. Spread it out lightly, leaving some gaps for bubbling.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving. Optionally serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
