Ingredients:
- 1 all-beef frankfurter (US: 5-6 oz / Metric: 140-170g)
- 1 poppy seed hot dog bun (fresh, steamed is best)
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard (classic ballpark style)
- 1 tablespoon sweet green relish (neon green, Chicago-style, is ideal)
- 1 dill pickle spear (large)
- 2 tomato wedges (firm, ripe)
- 1/4 cup chopped white onion (fresh)
- 2 sport peppers (pickled, small, and spicy)
- 1 dash celery salt
Instructions:
- Steam or warm the poppy seed bun until soft and pliable.
- Steam the frankfurter in a steamer basket over simmering water until heated through (about 3-5 minutes). Alternatively, poach in simmering water.
- Place the cooked frankfurter in the steamed bun.
- Squeeze a line of yellow mustard down one side of the frankfurter and spoon sweet green relish down the other.
- Place the dill pickle spear along one side of the frankfurter. Add the tomato wedges on the opposite side of the pickle.
- Sprinkle the chopped white onion over the frankfurter. Add the sport peppers. Finish with a generous dash of celery salt.
