Ingredients:

  • cup frozen blueberries
  • large ripe banana (preferably frozen and sliced)
  • /4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • /2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • /4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • teaspoon chia seeds or flax seeds
  • teaspoon maple syrup or honey (optional)
  • /4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. If time allows, soak the rolled oats in 2 tablespoons of the milk for 5 minutes prior to blending to soften them slightly.
  2. Add the liquid ingredients first (milk and Greek yogurt) into the blender jar to protect the blades.
  3. Layer in the soaked or dry oats, chia/flax seeds, sweetener (if using), and vanilla extract.
  4. Add the frozen banana slices and the frozen blueberries last.
  5. Secure the lid and start blending on a low setting, gradually increasing to high until completely smooth and creamy. Use the tamper if necessary.
  6. If the mixture is too thick, add milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is achieved. Serve immediately.
