Ingredients:
- cup frozen blueberries
- large ripe banana (preferably frozen and sliced)
- /4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- /2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- /4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- teaspoon chia seeds or flax seeds
- teaspoon maple syrup or honey (optional)
- /4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- If time allows, soak the rolled oats in 2 tablespoons of the milk for 5 minutes prior to blending to soften them slightly.
- Add the liquid ingredients first (milk and Greek yogurt) into the blender jar to protect the blades.
- Layer in the soaked or dry oats, chia/flax seeds, sweetener (if using), and vanilla extract.
- Add the frozen banana slices and the frozen blueberries last.
- Secure the lid and start blending on a low setting, gradually increasing to high until completely smooth and creamy. Use the tamper if necessary.
- If the mixture is too thick, add milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is achieved. Serve immediately.
