Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) Oyster Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Brown Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) Water
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Toasted Sesame Oil
  • 1 clove Garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) Fresh Ginger, grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) Red Pepper Flakes (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and cornstarch until smooth.
  2. Stir in water, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  3. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, whisking constantly.
  4. Continue to simmer, whisking, until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency (about 1-2 minutes). It should coat the back of a spoon.
  5. Remove from heat and use immediately in your stir-fry, or store for later use.
