Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh pineapple, chopped (about 300g)
  • 4 cups water (960ml)
  • 2-3 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (30-45ml), to taste
  • Juice of 1 lime (about 30ml)
  • 4-6 fresh mint leaves

Instructions:

  1. Chop the fresh pineapple into small pieces.
  2. In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the chopped pineapple to the boiling water.
  4. Remove from heat and let the pineapple steep for 20 minutes.
  5. Optionally, blend the mixture for a smoother tea and return it to the saucepan.
  6. Strain out the pineapple pieces using a mesh sieve.
  7. Stir in honey or agave syrup and the lime juice.
  8. Serve hot or chill in the refrigerator and serve over ice for a refreshing pineapple tea.
